Vows that Wow: August Edition
Becca and Kam got married in downtown Raleigh and this wedding didn’t hold back on color.
The ceremony arch set the tone: magenta and hot pink built up and over the frame, with strands of marigold-yellow garland woven through and cascading down. At the base, loose arrangements of coral, apricot, and golden garden roses spilled across the grass.
Rebecca’s bouquet matched the arch’s energy, coral and orange garden roses mixed with hot pink stock and trailing amaranthus. She paired it with a high-neck, sleeveless gown, a cathedral veil, and red satin heels, her hair and makeup done by Peach Cowgirl Beauty, plus intricate henna covering both hands. Kam wore an olive green suit with a blush tie, and his boutonniere pulled yellow and orange blooms straight from the ceremony florals.
One of our favorite moments, caught by Laura Memory Photo: a close-up of the couple’s henna-covered hands reaching toward each other, with “R + K” and a tiny cherry doodled into Kam’s palm. It’s a small detail, but it says a lot about how personal this day felt.
For the reception, the team lined a long feasting table with white linens, pink napkins, and a mix of green and amber glass goblets from Curated Events Raleigh, set behind the ceremony’s floral arch, now moved to frame the head table. Tapered candles in glass hurricanes and string lights overhead kept the space glowing as the sun went down. Guests found paper fans in pink, yellow, and orange waiting on their chairs, along with small favor bags, a sweet, practical touch for an outdoor ceremony.
Ask Rebecca and Kam their favorite part of the day, and they’ll point to dinner on the lawn under the market lights. “It was such a perfect, unforgettable moment,” Rebecca shared, looking out from their sweetheart table over the long tables filled with their closest friends and family, laughing and enjoying themselves late into the evening.
From the ceremony arch to the henna to that cake, this wedding proved that a bold color story can still feel warm and personal.
