Southside Sugar is a luxury custom cake studio based in Clayton/Selma, NC, proudly serving couples across central and eastern North Carolina. Founded by Chef Jeannie Stephenson, a professional pastry chef and cake artist with nearly 25 years of experience, Southside Sugar specializes in celebration cakes that are both breathtaking and delicious, ranging from simple elegance to bold, whimsical designs. They are also a gluten-less bakery, thoughtfully creating desserts that can be enjoyed with care and inclusivity in mind.
Chef Jeannie has worked in hotels, bakeries, catering, and fine dining, and has taught pastry arts at five culinary schools across North America, including Le Cordon Bleu and Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts. Originally from downtown Chicago, she now enjoys life in the North Carolina countryside with her husband and business partner, Paul, and their two children.
